These rules apply to Esports "To Win" markets on Kalshi-powered accounts. For Pick'em scoring rules, see Esports Delays & Postponements: When Picks Grade vs. Void.
What happens if a team forfeits or withdraws?
If a team forfeits, withdraws from consideration, or takes any other official action to remove themselves from being able to achieve the relevant outcome — such as withdrawing from the events that will determine the result — the market will resolve to "No" for that team.
What happens if a match ends early or is cut short?
If the official result is reported even though the event or events necessary for determining that result were truncated or ended early, the market will settle based on that reported result.
What happens if an event is moved earlier than its originally scheduled date?
If the event is moved up earlier than its originally scheduled date, then the market will remain open and will resolve after the result is reported.
What happens if a team is disqualified?
If a team is disqualified before the contract expires — even if the final event necessary to determine the result has already concluded — the market for that team will resolve to "No."
If the disqualification causes another team to be reported as the official result, the contract will settle on the basis of whichever team is reported as the official result.
What happens if an event is postponed?
If the final event is postponed past its scheduled date, the market remains open and will resolve after whichever comes first: (1) the official result is reported, or (2) two weeks after the originally scheduled date of the final event.
What happens if an event is suspended?
If the final event is suspended during the match, then the market will remain open and will resolve after whichever comes first: (1) the result of being reported or (2) two years following the originally scheduled date of the final event.
What happens if an event is cancelled outright?
If the final event is cancelled before it concludes — or if the achievement will have no official result — markets for eligible teams (those not already disqualified or eliminated) will resolve so "Yes" holders receive the last traded price prior to cancellation, and "No" holders receive $1 minus that amount.
