Crash Games: How It Works

Select an active matchup featuring a batter and the opposing pitcher. Your entry reflects the combined performance of both players.

You can join at any point before or during an at-bat. Your contest starts on the very next pitch thrown after you enter.

Each pitch that doesn't end the at-bat grows your multiplier.

You can cash out between any two pitches to lock in your current multiplier.

In pick'em contests, your payout = your entry fee × your multiplier at cash-out.

In Champions contests, your final number of accumulated Champions points entered into a peer-to-peer pool = your entry fee × your multiplier at cash-out.

The cash-out window is only open between pitches. The duration of the open cash out window between pitches may vary. Markets may remain suspended while the previous pitch is being graded.

If you move to a location where fantasy sports contests are not permitted while an entry is active, your entry will be automatically cashed out at your current multiplier. Manual cash-outs are not permitted from ineligible locations.

If the at-bat ends while you're still in (strikeout, hit, walk, hit by pitch, or any other plate appearance result), you “crash” and your entry is lost.

The crash event is determined by the call on the field at the time of the pitch. If that call is later overturned on replay review and the reversal would reinstate the at-bat, your entry is voided and refunded. If the call is overturned but the at-bat still ends (for example, an out changed to a hit), the crash stands.

Your multiplier grows with each surviving pitch.

The longer you hold, the higher it climbs — but the risk of crashing increases too.

If you have Bonus Funds in your account, they are used to fund your Crash entry before any real cash balance.

If you crash, your entry fee is lost in full. No portion is returned as Bonus Funds.

If you cash out, your winnings — the amount above your entry fee — are always paid in real cash.

You also convert an equal amount of your entry fee from Bonus Funds into real cash. The remainder of your entry fee is returned as Bonus Funds.

Example: a $10 Bonus Funds entry cashed out at 1.20× pays $12 — $2 in winnings, plus $2 of your entry fee converted to real cash, plus $8 returned as Bonus Funds.

If your winnings equal or exceed the Bonus Funds portion of your entry fee, your entire payout is paid in real cash and no Bonus Funds are returned. A $10 Bonus Funds entry cashed out at 2.00× or higher pays entirely in real cash.

For entries funded with a mix of Bonus Funds and real cash, the real cash portion of your entry fee is always returned as real cash.

Occasionally, a pitch market may be temporarily unavailable. When this occurs, Underdog will treat that pitch as a Bonus Pitch.

During a Bonus Pitch, your multiplier continues to grow as normal, but the cash-out option is temporarily disabled for that pitch.

If consecutive pitches in the same at-bat are unavailable, each will be treated as a Bonus Pitch under the same rules.

If an at-bat ends on an unavailable pitch, your entry will be automatically cashed out at your multiplier from the most recent available pitch.

Crash is a Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) contest based on the real-world statistical performance of multiple players from multiple different MLB teams. It is subject to Underdog's standard Pick'em and Champions rules.
